Join the Board – Open Positions – Join a Committee
We are looking to fill the positions of Secondary Division Director, Museum Education Division Director, Supervision/Administration Division Director and Early Childhood Representative.
The MAEA Board of Directors holds monthly hybrid meetings in person and online via Zoom, a video conference service, which make it accessible for members across the state. Interested candidates should submit their resume or CV/letter of intent to secretary@massarted.com. Le arn more here.

Consider joining one of our active committees like awards, conference, youth art month, public relations, student recognitions, exhibitions, or professional development. Committees typically meet monthly via Zoom, a video conferencing service.
Middle and High School Exhibit Opportunity – Save the Date
Middle Level and Secondary art educators please put work aside for our fall exhibit The Printed Image. Art educators are invited to submit 10 pieces of student work. Work submitted can be straight digital or film photographs, pieces that have been altered in some way, for example via digital manipulation, or printmaking.

Art Educators of Massachusetts Juried Exhibit Closing Reception
MAEA is continuing our ongoing series of art education exhibits in the second floor atrium gallery space at the State Transportation Building in Boston with an exhibit of art educators work. Fall Course/PDP Offering – Tufts University
Kay Furst, Tuesdays 5:30–8:30 p.m. School of the Museum of Fine Arts
This is a graduate level course that provides an overview of visual art methods and materials that are appropriate for art students in grades PK-8. The focus of this course is to provide you with hands-on opportunities to explore and become familiar with a wide range of materials and to evaluate the properties of these materials to expand upon new lesson possibilities. This course will also require a re-look at the artistic, emotional,
cognitive and social development of young students in the PK-8 age group through readings and discussions. Learn more.
Save the Date – Massachusetts Amazing Emerging Artists Recognitions Exhibit
Digital submission for the 2020 juried MAEA Recognitions exhibit will be open November 11 – December 6, 2019. Watch for complete information on submitting your student work for this juried show at the end of August.
- Open to grade 9-12 art students of MAEA members only
- Limit 5 entries per teacher – 1 entry per student
- Artwork by individual student – No collaborative work
- Digital Submission – Image of artwork accompanied by an artist statement
- Blind jury process
