ART EDUCATION PART-TIME FACULTY and FIELDWORK COORDINATOR

College of Fine Arts, School of Visual Arts, Art Education Department

At Boston University College of Fine Arts School of Visual Arts, we are committed to preparing teaching artists who are passionate about both their own creative practice and their pedagogy. We are seeking interested candidates to fill the position of Faculty and Fieldwork Coordinator for practicum and pre-practicum internships. This is a 9-month, 6-credit position (3 credits per semester, 7-10 hours/week). This position involves leading an Elementary Pre-practicum seminar course in the Fall and Secondary Pre-practicum seminar course in the Spring. It also includes placement of pre-service teachers, supervision, and record-keeping, in accordance with DESE requirements.

Required Qualities and Skills

  1. Experience teaching art or a related subject in pre-K-12 schools
  2. Strong time management, planning, and organizational skills
  3. Excellent spoken and written communication skills
  4. Supervisory experience
  5. A car or reliable transportation
  6. Availability during school hours

Art Teacher – Oyster River High School, Durham, NH

Oyster River Cooperative School District is seeking innovative and enthusiastic Art Teachers to fill two vacancies at Oyster River High School this fall.

We are seeking candidates with a strong and varied fine arts portfolio and experience teaching a variety of two and three-dimensional art mediums, including drawing, painting, sculpture, pottery, and photography.

This position requires a sincere desire to help high school students learn and grow, as well as teamwork and flexibility.

Qualified candidates will hold a NH certification in Art Education.

Long Term Art Substitute – Wayland High School

Teach art to high school students. This anticipated opening is a long-term substitute teaching position for a leave of absence from approximately May 12, 2021, to the end of the current school year and continuing for the first quarter of the 2021-2022 school year, to approximately November 5, 2021.

Terms of employment are in accordance with the Pay Guidelines for Substitutes and Temporary Employees and the Agreement Between the Wayland School Committee and the Wayland Teachers’ Association, Inc.

Camps Pembroke (MA), Camp Tel Noar, and Camp Tevya (NH), non-profit, Jewish cultural camping for children, ages 8- 15, welcome qualified candidates for Heads of Arts and Crafts.

These seasonal positions oversee, supervise, and evaluate the arts & crafts staff and program including all arts & crafts electives and bunk activities periods; opens and closes arts & crafts department including inventory reports, purchase requests, and repair logs. Pre-camp preparation is required.

Qualifications: 1-3 years in a leadership role as Assistant Head of Arts & Crafts or Head of Arts & Crafts at a day or residential camp, experience supervising, leading and organizing an arts & crafts program including skills to organize an age appropriate and project-based arts & crafts activities program. Bachelor degree preferred. Candidates with majors in education, art education, applied art, or recreation encouraged to apply.
