The following MAEA Board positions are currently open for a partial term. Interested members, as well as eligible incumbents, are encouraged to apply. We are also always looking for members to join committees, which is where the majority of MAEA work is completed. The following appointed board positions are open for an almost two-year appointment now, through December 31, 2024.

Interested in becoming more involved, but aren’t ready to take the plunge into an official board position? Consider joining one of our active committees like awards, conference, exhibitions, professional development, student recognitions, or youth art month.

General Elections & Appointment Information

Board positions are two year terms, unless otherwise noted. Please see the schedule below for each position. Interested members, as well as eligible incumbents are encouraged to apply in October of each year.

For more information regarding elections and appointments please see Article V, Section 1 and 2 of the Massachusetts Art Education Association Constitution.

Elections for President-Elect and appointments for Special Interest Representatives, and Exhibitions Committee Chair, Publications Editor, Webmaster, and Liaisons will happen in the fall of odd number years. Terms will begin on January 1 following the election and appointments.

Elections for Treasurer, Secretary, and ED&I Director-Elect, and appointments for Division Directors, Conference, Youth Art Month, Awards and Student Recognition Committee Chairs will happen in the fall of even number years. Terms will begin on January 1 following the election and appointments.
