Present at NPEN Professional Development Conference for Art Educators

The Northeast Professional Educator Network (NPEN), in collaboration with fine and performing arts educators, will be sponsoring a full day of teacher workshops on November 5, 2019 to provide professional development for art, music, theater, and foreign language educators at Chelmsford High School, 200 Richardson Road in Chelmsford. NPEN is a multi-district organization that has been formed to provide high-quality professional development to educators.

Visual art educators are encouraged to present sessions at this event. Each presenter facilitates a 90-minute session to art educators. Educators will have a range of sessions to choose from in each of the three blocks of sessions that day, so to help plan and provide them with information to make their selections, interested applicants will need to submit a title for the session, a brief description, presenter bio, and the levels for which this session is appropriate (elementary, middle, and/or high school level educators). Past attendees have indicated in their survey responses that very “hands-on” sessions are the most popular.

NPEN will compensate the presenter $100 for preparing and presenting the session.

This November, there were almost 250 visual art teachers signed up for the event, and these numbers are guaranteed to increase in 2019. Districts involved in this event are Amesbury, Andover, ASRSD, Bedford, Beverly, Carlisle, Chelmsford, CREST, Georgetown, Gloucester, Hamilton-Wenham, Haverhill, Lawrence, Littleton, Lynnfield, Manchester Essex, Melrose, Methuen, North Andover, North Middlesex Regional, North Reading, Northshore Education Consortium, Reading, Rockport, Salem, SEEM, Swampscott, Tewksbury, Tri-Town, Valley Collaborative, Wilmington, and more.

Presenters do not need to be a member of NPEN. If you would like to learn more about NPEN, please visit the NPEN website:http://northeastpen.com/

Interested teachers should email their proposed session title, description, level, and bio no later than July 1 for consideration to Dr. Christina Whittlesey whittleseyc@chelmsford.k12.ma.us.
