Distinguished Service Within the Profession

Stephanie Graham, Mount Everett Regional School, Sheffield

Stephanie Graham teaches art in grades 6-12. Some of her roles include advising the Community Service Club, the National Art Honor Society, and the International Student program. She created the Global Education Program and coordinates collaborative international exchanges. She is also the PLN leader for the Arts in Berkshire County. Stephanie earned a B.S. in Art Education/Ceramics, and a Masters in Humanistic/Multicultural Education from SUNY New Paltz. She holds a certificate in Art Pre K-12 in New York, Massachusetts licensure in Visual Arts, 5-12, and National Geographic Educator Certification. Her interest in interdisciplinary learning and arts integration has manifested in much work with colleagues and community across schools. In 2020, Stephanie earned a Fulbright award and conducted research into how rural schools in New Zealand successfully implement “inquiry learning.” Her work greatly informed her decisions in creating academic and social unity around indigenous studies in her school. She has worked closely with the Stockbridge Munsee Community in various projects and professional development for teachers in Berkshire County. Her most recent participation in an Indigenous Peacemaking Council, which brought together tribal members of 15 nations across the U.S., broadened her connections and will further this initiative.
