2020 MAEA Awards Ceremony

The MAEA Board of Directors are looking forward to honoring and celebrating the 2020 MAEA Art Educators of the Year at the 2019 MAEA conference at Montserrat College of Art.

The awards ceremony is November 9 in the Underground 248 Cabot Street, Beverly. Please join us for the awards ceremony at 5:00 pm. The MAEA Awards Ceremony is open to the public.

Congratulations to Jaimee Taborda, whose work was selected in a blind review to be this year’s award image. Please look for this opportunity next year in conjunction with the 2021 MAEA Art Educator Awards.

The MAEA Awards Committee is currently accepting art submissions from artists for the 2020 MAEA awards. These will be awarded to our 2020 MAEA award winners at the MAEA awards program held at the 2019 MAEA conference hosted by Montserrat College of Art, November 9-10, 2019. Learn more.

Huge congrats to MAEA Members Alice Gentili and Jaimee Taborda who were honored at the National Art Education Association National Convention in Boston last month!

Alice was awarded the 2019 National Middle Division Art Educator and Jaimee was honored at the Eastern Region Awards Ceremony for being the 2019 MAEA Art Educator of the Year.

DESIGN AND CREATE THE 2019 MAEA AWARDS

The MAEA Awards Committee is currently accepting proposals from artists to design and create eleven art awards to be awarded to our 2019 MAEA award winners at the MAEA awards program at the NAEA National Convention in Boston. The stipend for this work is $550. Learn more.

PROPOSALS
SHOULD INCLUDE:
  • a short letter of intent
  • three examples of past work
  • a thumbnail or mockup of design proposal
DESIGNS MAY:
  • include the award winner name, award title, and award date
  • be functional or nonfunctional (for example: a vase vs. a plaque)
HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR DESIGN

Submit your proposal (a short letter of intent, three examples of past work, and thumbnail/mockup) to Awards Committee Chair at awards@massarted.com
