Framingham State University – Visual Art Instructors for Children’s Program, Danforth Art School
We are seeking several visual art instructors for our Children’s Program to teach all media to children from PreK- High School level. Instructors are responsible for designing expansive lessons providing developmentally appropriate skill and concept building. Lessons should utilize museum exhibitions in study when appropriate. Classes are typically 2-3 hrs in duration, offered once a week afterschool and on weekends during Fall, Winter and Spring. Classes during the Summer Arts Program run weekly for 6 hrs a day. Classes during school vacation week are typically 2 full-day workshops. We offer other teaching opportunities in public programming at the museum throughout the year. Instructors are expected to serve for several weeks during the summer program in addition to year round programming.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrated experience teaching art to youth
Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Art fields, Education or related fields
Demonstrated evidence of artistic expertise
Additional Information:
This is a part-time non-benefited, contract position, not to exceed 18 hours per week. The scheduled hours vary. The pay rate is $35 per hour.
Long Term Visual Art Substitute – Needham Public Schools
The Needham Public Schools is an inclusive, dynamic, and multicultural community seeking an energetic, skilled, and warm Long Term Substitute position for Visual Arts at the High School from approximately January 21, 2025 through the end of the school year to join our team.
We are seeking applicants with a strong 2D background. The courses associated with this position are Drawing and Painting 1, Crafts, and Architectural Drawing and Design 1.
Needham High School has a strong visual arts program with eight full time teachers, designated visual art spaces, and plenty of resources including a Gallery space within the High School.
There will also be a full time position opening at the High School in the Fall.

Long Term Visual Art Substitute – South Elementary School, Andover
Under the direction of the principal and the fine arts program coordinator, the art teacher will teach elementary classes as scheduled, will co-ordinate art with other curricula, and will be involved with all schedule exhibits.
Responsibilities
- Teach a variety of Art Classes at the Elementary school level
- Work with Art department as a team to develop curriculum.
- Willingness to share the responsibilities of the Art department.
Qualifications
- Massachusetts certification in area of art
- Demonstrated successful teaching in art.
- Demonstrated thorough knowledge of elements of art and successful techniques
- Competency working in a culturally diverse environment or the willingness to acquire these skills.
- Demonstrated successful techniques in integrating art program into the curriculum of other disciplines.
- Ability to communicate articulately and cooperatively with teachers, parents, and administrators.
- Knowledge and sensitivity to successfully mainstream the learning disabled.
