The MAEA board is filled by MAEA members just like you. Consider giving back to your state association in the role of an official board position. The following appointed board positions are open for a fully two year term, or a partial term (noted next to each position). Serving in these roles includes paid membership for MAEA and NAEA, as MAEA is a state affiliate of NAEA.

- Elementary, Middle Level, Secondary, Higher Education, Museum Education, Supervision/Administration, and Preservice
- Conference Committee Chair – Jan 1, 2025 – Dec 31, 2026

- Awards Committee Chair – Jan 1, 2025 – Dec 31, 2026

Please apply for these roles at any time, as we will be filling them on a rolling basis, as the terms for these roles have already started.

Secretary and Treasurer – Call for Nominations
The MAEA Executive Committee positions of Secretary and Treasurer are currently open for a two-year position. Serving in these roles includes paid membership for MAEA and NAEA, as MAEA is a state affiliate of NAEA.
Please submit a letter of intent, resume/CV, short biography (250 word), and head shot for the election to info@massarted.com by December 20, 2024. Elections for Secretary and Treasurer will be held shortly after the submission deadline. For additional information about responsibilities and descriptions please refer to the MAEA website.
President-Elect – Urgent Need to Fill
The next term for the MAEA Executive Committee position of President-elect started January 1, 2024. This position is a two-year term, that transitions into the role of President, and Past President, which are also two-year terms. Serving in these roles includes paid membership for MAEA and NAEA, as MAEA is a state affiliate of NAEA.

General Elections & Appointment Information
Board positions are two year terms, unless otherwise noted. Please see the schedule below for each position. A call for nominations is typically posted in October of each year.
For more information regarding elections and appointments please see Article V, Section 1 and 2 of the Massachusetts Art Education Association Constitution.
Elections for President-Elect and appointments for Special Interest Representatives, and Exhibitions Committee Chair, Publications Editor, Webmaster, and Liaisons will happen in the fall of odd number years. Terms will begin on January 1 following the election and appointments.
Elections for Treasurer, Secretary, and ED&I Director-Elect, and appointments for Division Directors, Conference, Youth Art Month, Awards and Student Recognition Committee Chairs will happen in the fall of even number years. Terms will begin on January 1 following the election and appointments.
