Mass Cultural Council STARS Residencies support three-day-plus residencies that bring students and teachers together with practicing artists, scientists, and humanists to create rich cultural experiences. These residencies help youth build confidence, discover hidden talents, explore the natural world, understand their place in history, and rise as leaders in their community. Deadline October 25.

Mass Cultural Council – Local Cultural Council Grants – Mass Cultural Council funds and manages a network of 329 Local Cultural Councils (LCCs) across the state, representing every city and town in the Commonwealth. Each council awards money based on individual community cultural needs, assessed and set by LCC members. Applicants apply directly to local councils. Deadline October 17.
- Schacht Tools for Schools – Annual equipment grant of up to $3000 for educating people in spinning and weaving. Deadline March 1 of each year.
- The Judy Chicago Art Education Award – $2500 prize. Deadline June 1.

Teachers, librarians, and youth program coordinators are encouraged to nominate themselves or a colleague for Bow Seat’s Educator Innovation Awards, recognizing the creative ways that educators incorporate the Ocean Awareness Contest into their physical or virtual classrooms. All nominees who teach in Massachusetts will be automatically considered for the Bay State Educator Award, a $750 cash award plus a $500 classroom grant ($1,250 total prize package). Deadline July 1, 2023.
