Active and retired MAEA Members are invited to submit their 2D and 3D artwork for the annual MAEA Members exhibit at Worcester Art Museum in Worcester in conjunction with the 2022 MAEA conference The heART of the Commonwealth.
Exhibition Details:
On View, November 2, 2022 – December 2, 2022
Worcester Art Museum, Higgins Education Wing, 55 Salisbury St, Worcester, MA. Please use the entrance on Lancaster St (off Salisbury)
Reception: Saturday, November 12 , 2022 from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Exhibiting artists, their families and friends, and conference attendees are invited to attend; light refreshments will be served.
Gallery Hours: On view, Wednesdays – Sundays, 10 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Registration Deadline: Please register by Friday, October 14, 2022. The registration form can be found here.
Artwork Drop-off/Delivery Details:
Drop Off Locations: We are working on setting up a few drop-off locations. The general date of drop-off options across the state will be Monday October 17 – Friday October 21 Details for drop-off locations can be found here.
Drop Off at Museum: Deliver work directly to the Worcester Art Museum. Please have the package labeled MAEA Members’ Exhibit, Attention: Elizabeth Buck and bring it to the Higgin’s Education Wing (Lancaster St. Entrance). Work may be dropped off Wednesdays – Saturdays 10am- 4pm. Work must be dropped off by Wednesday, October 26, 2022.
Mailing Work: Artwork can also be mailed directly to the Worcester Art Museum (Attn: Elizabeth Buck, MAEA Members’ Exhibit, 55 Salisbury St, Worcester, MA 01609). Work should be received by Wednesday, October 26, 2022. Please include return postage if you ship your items or arrange for it to be delivered back to a drop-off location or picked up

Submission Instructions
- Complete the online registration form, including the proper label information for all the pieces you will be submitting.
- Each MAEA member may submit one of the following:
- one large 2D piece
- two small 2D pieces
- two 3D pieces
- one 2D piece and one 3D piece
- No member may submit more than two pieces
- Small 2D pieces are defined as anything 18”x18” or smaller including frame.
- Large 2D pieces are defined as anything larger than 18”x 18”, including frame. Large work should be no larger than 36” framed.
- 3D pieces should not be larger than 36” in any direction.
- No work (2D or 3D) may weigh over 50 lbs.
- This exhibit is only open to MAEA members. There is no submission fee.
- Each MAEA member may submit one of the following:
- You must include a signed Artwork Release form with artwork.
Submission Guidelines
- We can accept 2D work, low relief sculptures which have been prepared to be hung on a wall, and sculptures to be displayed on pedestals.
- We can only accept 2D or 3D work that is no larger than 36” in any direction, (including frame.)
- Canvas pieces do not need to be framed, but should be professionally presented with a gallery wrap canvas.
- All 2D artwork or low relief sculptures must be prepared as ready to hang.
- Smaller work can be prepared with a picture hook on the back of the frame.
- Larger work should be prepared with picture hanging wire attached with hooks ⅓ of the way down from the top. The apex of the wire should come about 3” from the top of the frame.
- Loop the wire through the hooks and twist the free end around several times.
- Please make sure the artist’s name and title of the work are included on the back or bottom of each piece
- The MAEA and the Worcester Art Museum maintain the right not to exhibit work which is inappropriate for the venue.
- MAEA and the Worcester Art Museum will not be insuring the exhibit. Individual artists should insure their own work if appropriate and deemed necessary.
