Ivy Mayer – Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Boston
Ivy Mayer has a BFA in Graphic Design (2011) and a Masters of Arts in Teaching (2019) from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Ivy is excited to bring her experiences in graphic design and performance arts into the classroom. She believes in giving students a supportive and playful space to explore their own interests as artists. As a lifetime fan of improv theater, emergent curriculum is an essential part of her teaching philosophy. Ivy says about teaching; “Artists respond to the world around them in a way that makes sense for them as individuals, and student artists are no different. Every moment is an opportunity to look at what is going on around us and make meaning through hands-on, self-directed exploration. That is the sort of authentic practice I hope to instill in my students.
