Active and retired art educators in Massachusetts are invited to submit their artwork for the 2025 MAEA Art Educators Exhibit at the Gelb Gallery at Phillips Academy Andover in conjunction with the 2025 MAEA Awards Ceremony. Download the Call for Submissions document here.
Exhibition Details: Friday, September 19 – Sunday, October 19 Gelb Gallery, George Washington building, Phillips Academy, 7 Chapel Ave, Andover, MA 01810 *See the map below. The routes marked with arrows lead to the building main entrance and there are a series of handicap accessible ramps also along this marked path.
Reception: Friday, September 19 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Exhibiting artists, honorees and their families and friends are invited to attend; light refreshments will be served. The MAEA awards ceremony will start at 6:15 p.m. RSVP to the reception here.

Drop-off/Delivery/Pick-up Details:
Artwork can be mailed: Eve Avalos, 180 Main Street, Andover, MA 01810. Please include return postage if you ship your items or arrange for it to be picked up at the close of the exhibit. Work must be received by Tuesday September 9, 2025.
Artwork can also be Hand-Delivered work to 18R Old Campus Road, Andover, MA, there will be a drop box under a covered porch. The entrance is on the side of the building facing the softball field, behind the tall bushes. Please have the package labeled MAEA Art Educators Exhibit, Attention: Eve Avalos. Work may be dropped off Wed-Wed, September 3-10, between 8:00 am – 7:00 pm. Please email Eve Avalos at secondary@massarted.com to confirm when you will be dropping work off for the exhibit and if you would like to work together to arrange drop off outside of the listed times.
Work can be picked up at the time of take down on Monday, October 20 or picked up from the week of October 20-24 by emailing Eve Avalos: secondary@massarted.com. If you ship your work and provide return shipping it will be shipped back to you shortly after the exhibit comes down.
Any work left after October 24, 2025 becomes the property of MAEA.
If you have issues picking up your work in the timeframe outlined, please contact Eve at secondary@massarted.com to make arrangements ASAP.
Show Set Up & Take Down
Exhibit Set Up: Wednesday, September 17, 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Exhibit Take Down: Monday, October 20, 11:00 am – 2:00 pm

Submission Instructions and Guidelines:
- Complete the online registration form, including the proper label information for all the pieces you will be submitting.
- We can accept 2D work or low relief sculptures which have been prepared to be hung on a wall.
- Each art educator may submit either one large piece, or two small pieces.
- Small pieces are defined as anything 18”x18” or smaller including frame.
- Large pieces are defined as anything larger than 18”x 18”, including frame.
- Large work should be no larger than 36” in any direction, including frame.
- No work may weigh over 50 lbs.
- You must include both of the required Artwork Release forms with artworks. MAEA Release
Preparing Artwork for Exhibit: All work must be prepared as ready to hang with picture hanging wire attached. Canvas pieces do not need to be framed, but should be professionally presented with a gallery wrap canvas. The apex of the wire should come about 3” from the top of the frame. Your name and the title of the work should be on the back of each piece.
