Julie Baker – Marlborough Public Schools
Julie is a passionate advocate for hands-on learning environments that inspire students to explore ideas, make discoveries, and learn from one another. She believes that the world of art is a natural avenue to help students embrace their curiosity, be creative problem solvers, and make meaningful connections to the world around them. Julie started her career as an art educator at the upper elementary and middle school levels before transitioning into a high school position where she taught a variety of classes including Drawing, Graphic Design, and Art History. She is currently the K-12 Supervisor of Visual Arts for the Marlborough Public Schools, supporting a team of art educators in providing quality art experiences for all students. Julie has also presented workshops on creativity and arts advocacy at state conferences and has secured several grants to support special projects such as visiting artists, school murals, and public art installations in her district. Aside from her passion for teaching art, Julie also enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, hiking, snowboarding, and practicing yoga.
