Join us for a special MAEA Museum Meetup in Western Mass! Teachers will meet up at The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art, the international champion for picture books for a tour and artmaking. After some mingling over coffee and cider donuts, MAEA teachers will take a guided tour of The Carle’s special exhibition Alphabet Soup: How Picture Books Are Made, From A to Z.
The exhibition mines The Carle’s permanent collection to uncover the processes that bring picture books to life. Each letter of the alphabet introduces a key concept in picture-book making, from the materials artists use, to changes in printing technology, and even the physical parts of books themselves. The visit will end with time in The Carle’s Art Studio, making an alphabet using simple shapes and printmaking techniques (and inspired by art on view in the galleries).
Advance registration required and space is limited.
When: Saturday, March 30 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Where: The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art,
125 West Bay Road Amherst, MA 01002

Hello,
I need to talk to someone who knows about MAEA’s connection to 10 Park Plaza/Transportation Building atrium exhibit area. Also, did MAEA sponsor a YAM exhibit at a different location this year?
Thank you!
