MASSACHUSETTS ART EDUCATION ASSOCIATION AWARDS PROGRAM
Each calendar year the Massachusetts Art Education Association recognizes individuals who have made a significant contribution to the field of Art Education in Massachusetts. The Awards each year are:
1 - MASSACHUSETTS ART EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR
2 - M.A.E.A. Elementary Art Educator of the Year
3 - M.A.E.A. Middle School Art Educator of the Year
4 - M.A.E.A. High School Art Educator of the Year
5 - M.A.E.A. Supervision/Administration Art Educator of the Year
6 - M.A.E.A. Higher Education Art Educator of the Year
7 - M.A.E.A. Museum Art Educator of the Year
8 - M.A.E.A. Special Needs Art Educator of the Year new
9 - M.A.E.A. Friend of Art Education in Massachusetts.
All awardees must be members in good standing of the Massachusetts Art Education Association except Friends of Art Education in Massachusetts. Friends of Art Education may be School Administrators, School Committee/Board Members, Community Members, or other non-Art Educators.
In order to be nominated for an award, a Nomination Portfolio must be submitted to the M.A.E.A. A Portfolio must include:
1 - A completed M.A.E.A. Nomination Form;
>>2 - A resume of the nominee (not to exceed three pages) Include in resume: history of relationship with M.A.E.A. and/or other art education associations and institutions; leadership roles in art education; professional activities & publications; and other contributions to art education in Massachusetts.
3 - Letters of support or reference.
4 - Personal art education philosophy statement of the nominee.
